The Ultimate Sky Broadband Deals Guide
Sky Broadband is one of the UK's biggest telecom providers and one of the country's most well-known brands. The company is perhaps best known as a pay-TV provider, offering premium channels and TV bundles to the content-hungry masses. However, in recent years people have come to recognise the brand for its other services, including broadband and mobile.
Why Pick Sky Broadband?
Sky consistently ranks among the UK’s best-rated major providers for customer satisfaction. Ofcom’s latest figures show Sky had one of the lowest broadband complaint rates in the industry, reflecting strong reliability and responsive support. Since October 2024, every switcher gets 24/7 real-person switching support: phone help during the day and live chat overnight. Sky also offers up to £100 account credit to help cover early-exit fees from your previous provider (up to £200 if you’re switching broadband and TV together).
Through its new partnership with CityFibre, Sky now sells Full Fibre 2.5 Gigafast+ and Full Fibre 5 Gigafast+ packages, delivered with a WiFi 7 Gigafast+ Hub, making one of the fastest of the large UK providers. The same connection can carry Sky Glass or Sky Stream television services, allowing homes to combine premium channels, Netflix and other apps into one discounted broadband and TV bundle.
Sky Speed Guarantee
Sky also offers among the UK's most comprehensive WiFi guarantees. All packages include a basic Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee of 3Mbps in every room, whilst the optional WiFi Max upgrade (from £4 monthly) raises this to 10Mbps for standard packages or 25Mbps for full-fibre packages. If your download speed drops below your guaranteed minimum download speed for three consecutive days or more, you have the right to leave without early termination charges.
Strong WiFi performance
Sky has upgraded its router game significantly. Most Sky broadband plans (up to Full Fibre 300) come with the Sky Broadband Hub, Sky’s dual‑band Wi‑Fi 5 router. If you add WiFi Max or choose a package of 150 Mb or faster, Sky provides the Wi‑Fi 6 Max Hub instead. This newer unit works with small mesh pods to extend coverage to parts of the home the older hub might not reach. WiFi Max also lifts Sky’s money‑back guarantee from 3 Mb to 10 Mb in every room, or 25 Mb on full‑fibre plans. Customers who order the latest 2.5 Gb or 5 Gb services receive the Gigafast+ Hub, the first Wi‑Fi 7 router from a major UK provider, launched in July 2025.
Discounts
Many Sky Broadband deals offer discounts when taking broadband together with Sky Mobile, Sky Stream or a conventional Sky TV bundle. If you want more entertainment, Sky is a great way to get a wide range of TV shows and fibre broadband at an affordable price. Sky also periodically offers digital reward cards worth up to £100 for new customers. These offers change regularly, so it's worth checking what's available when you're ready to sign up.
Switching is easy

Contract Length
All Sky Broadband contracts are 24 months. While this is unlikely to be a problem for most consumers, clearly, it's not ideal for people renting short term or otherwise needing a more flexible arrangement.
Other Key Points About Sky Broadband Deals
Sky delivers its broadband over the national Openreach network for part‑fibre and most full‑fibre lines, while the new 2.5 Gbps and 5 Gbps Gigafast+ tiers run on CityFibre’s full‑fibre infrastructure, giving Sky coverage to almost every household that can already order superfast and to more than half that can now order full fibre.
Sky uses two different fibre networks to deliver its broadband. For most customers, Sky runs over BT's Openreach network, the UK's largest, reaching 19 million homes for full fibre and covering virtually every address for standard broadband. This gives Sky near universal coverage across the country. For its fastest speeds, Sky has partnered with CityFibre, an alternative network that currently reaches 4.5 million homes and is growing rapidly. The ultra-fast 2.5Gb and 5Gb Gigafast+ packages only run on CityFibre's network, which offers the latest technology needed for these premium speeds.
Although headline offers say “£0 set‑up”, a £9.95 router delivery charge and a £10 activation fee can still appear on the first bill.
Sky reviews its prices each April. In 2025 the average rise was 6.2 %; customers have 30 days to leave penalty‑free if they prefer.
All broadband plans include Pay‑As‑You‑Talk Sky Talk line rental. Optional evening, weekend or anytime call packs can be added at checkout. Internet‑calls technology is used on full‑fibre lines, so a working broadband connection is needed for landline calls.
Parental controls come free via Sky Broadband Shield, which lets you set age levels, block individual sites and schedule a nightly watershed. The older Sky Broadband Buddy app was withdrawn in April 2023.
The legacy Broadband Boost add‑on and the copper‑based Essential Plus plan were both retired in 2023. Boost now appears only for some Sky Q or other legacy lines.
What's the Verdict?
Sky Broadband's biggest strengths remain its excellent customer service record, comprehensive entertainment bundles, and now the UK's fastest speeds from any major provider. The combination of 24/7 switching support, up to £100 switching credit, and strong WiFi guarantees makes Sky a solid choice for those prioritising hassle-free service. Whilst some providers offer cheaper fibre-only deals, Sky's package of features, from WiFi 6 routers and mesh pods to seamless TV integration, provides good value for money. The new ultra-fast Gigafast+ packages with WiFi 7 technology also position Sky at the cutting edge for speed-hungry households.
